About the Show   Gallery Mandate
From January 10 to February 3 the gallery presents The Art of Canadian Portraiture organized by The Portrait Society of Canada. The exhibition celebrates Canadian portraiture in a month-long exhibition of contemporary portraits created by society members. Classical, traditional, and modern portraiture is represented. Exhibiting artists: James MacDougall, Judith Elsasser, Jonathan Fligel, Tadeuzs Biernot, Sally Chupick, Jennifer Foster, Ilona Biernot, Kendall Ayuob, Jamie MacDonald, Da Rong Dong, Momcilo Somic, Sybiline, Irena Antia, Louisa Lau, Deborah Pearce, Steven Rosati, Cynthia Kemerer, Birte Hella and Veronica Kvassetskaia Tsyglan. The John B. Aird Gallery is grateful to Civil Underground and Excavation Company Ltd. for their sponsorship of this exhibition.

 
The John B. Aird Gallery is a not-for-profit charitable organization serving the art community and the public. The “Aird”, as it’s casually known, presents exhibitions and related activities that are open to the public and presented for the purposes of study, education and the enjoyment of art. The Gallery is located in the Macdonald Block, an office tower in the heart of Queen’s Park, the seat of the Government of Ontario.

The mandate of the John B. Aird Gallery is to create awareness and enjoyment of art works by contemporary professional artists. The Gallery is truly a special place providing a nurturing atmosphere for both artist and viewer.
